Introduction
The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is the perfect palm grip mouse, lighter than ever. Razer has a gaming mouse for every need, but the DeathAdder line was consistently particular. Razer is “the most successful gaming mouse of all time,” which has sold around 10 million squads, and its vast popularity is probably because of just how universal the design feels. The wired model persists to be one of the more cheap offerings in Razer’s lineup.
The DeathAdder moved to wireless in its second generation with the V2 Pro. Now, with the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro, the format has experienced some meaningful tweaks, including cutting a lot of weight and bumping up performance. It also arrives with price growth, from $130 for the V2 Pro to $150 for the latest model. That affords you a lot of gaming superiority, even if there are more affordable alternatives for the budget-conscious.
Design and comfort
My history with the perfect palm grip mouse Razer DeathAdder turns ago to 2012 when I first got into PC gaming. The model I used a decade back didn’t really feature the iconic green LEDs. But I loved my DeathAdder Infrared, and when it created double clicking in 2019, I gained a bit upset.
That takes us to the latest mouse release by Razer: the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro. The current Razer Viper blew us out V2 Pro performance, so when I attended those features would be present in the latest Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro, it thrilled me to try it out myself.
One problem I had going into the check was weight. Having developed used to lighter gaming mice since the initial DeathAdder was my main jam, I was worried that the additional weight would be a drag on my pleasure with the mouse. It has been tweaked, but it still has the general DeathAdder silhouette.
But Razer put the DeathAdder on a first extreme diet this time, which thinned 25 grams of weight and, with it, RGB lighting. That’s a 28 drop in weight, setting it at just 63 grams. That’s only 4 grams further than Razer’s own Viper V2 Pro. It’s also highly lighter than opponents like the Roccat Burst Pro Air and matches the Logitech G Pro X Superlight. The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro the perfect palm grip mouse is currently in the super-light territory, and that’s fantastic.
Losing RGB will turn some off, especially if you come to Razer awaiting it. But the advantages of keeping the weight down outweigh the trade-off.
The DeathAdder shape has consistently been my favorite out of Razer’s nice because of its round design. That ergonomic figure is excellent for palm grip gamers like me, and Razer kept up in the rearmost model. It comes in white now, a great change-up from the sea of black gaming mice out there.
But the company has made changes that can never see in former versions. The whole shell is one piece, except for the left and right keys. The added ring finger ledge compliments this modification in design, and the left and right buttons feature a slight amount of indented to cradle your fingers.
Razer gave the roof on the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro by setting the scroll wheel, side buttons, and top shell high. The increase in height is exactly1.3 mm, so it isn’t excessively noticeable. I allowed.
The high design felt better in my hand since I use a palm grip. However, through — or indeed if you have lower hands — this new DeathAdder isn’t the right choice for you If that’s not you.
Connections and battery life
Beyond the new design changes, Razer includes many of the standard features you’d expect in a modern mouse, containing the usual-cut grip tape, an a2.4 GHz HyperSpeed wireless dongle and a Speed Flex USB-C cable for charging.
Battery life was one of the major causes the Viper V2 Pro had become my daily driver since I checked it. The DeathAdder is except it off the throne as it sports a 90- hour battery life, 10 hours further than the Viper.
The difference in battery life between these two mice alike trusts the link. As one would accept, the battery life of the Viper Pro V2 is down dramatically to 24 hours if attached to the Razer HyperPolling wireless dongle, as it bumps the polling rate up to 4,000 Hz. I innovate that trade-off worth the compromise in battery, and Razer offers that same$165 bundle with the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro.
Sensors and switches
The bottom of the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is nearly identical to the Viper V2 Pro. The DPI and energy are one button, and the sensor keeps up to 30,000 DPI. That’s up from the 40,000 DPI of the former model and matches the Viper V2 Pro.
The scroll wheel on the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is a big lighter than the one present on the Viper V2 Pro, which is likely for the best. A complaint with the Viper V2 Pro was that the scroll wheel felt scratchy and progressively worsened over time, indeed leading me to lube the scroll wheel, eventually. I don’t expect that effect with the new DeathAdder because of its light.
The same Gen 3 visual switches that Razer says can click up to 90 million times. They sound and feel excellent.
Certainty In nearly every mouse I’ve used, the left mouse button always sounds different from the right, and I do not understand why. While this stands real with the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro, the difference is far less marked, and that tendency continues on the head and backside buttons.
Gaming experience
My favorite feature around the DeathAdder lineup has ever been the palm grip-friendly design. As preliminarily stated, the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is the most palm grip-friendly mouse I’ve ever used, making for a largely comfortable experience.
The shape of the mouse conforms to my hand like a glove, and with the DPI set to 600, I felt I had complete control over my weapon’s recoil in Call of Duty Black Ops 3. Mowing down zombies is permanently a blast, but the updated DeathAdder made me feel nostalgic for the days I played 64- player matches on Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
But this mouse standing a palm gripper’s plan, you still get the gold standard for optic switches for quick inputs, PTFE feet for smoother operation, and the option to add grip tape for the last control.
Our take
It’s hard to find essential to complain about with the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro. After multiple years of small changes, the DeathAdder demanded an update in the looks category, precisely what it accomplishes in its third generation. The performance is top-notch, and it’s currently every bit as light as its rivals. I don’t like to see a price increase, but Razer’s tweaks in this generation are all improvements to an already-great mouse.
Should you buy it?
Yes. The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro has the features we know and love about the mouse, but with some adjustments to produce it competitive in the gaming mouse market in 2022.
