Apple Test Alerts: iPhone users can now receive emergency, government, and public Test Alerts  

Introduction

iOS 16 is still developing, and Apple regularly introduces new features Apple Test Alerts to its forthcoming OS. This time, it has decided to add ”Test Alerts” to iOS15.6 and iOS 16 Beta 3. The company recently announced the addition, allowing iPhones to display Test Alerts from local governments about extreme rainfall conditions, significant threats to life, public safety, and so on.

All users may not have access to Apple test Alerts 

 The configuration is only available to iPhone users linked to U.S. carriers. Also, since America’s Missing Broadcast Emergency Response (AMBER) Apple Test Alerts are unavailable in some areas, all users may not have access to them. 

 How to enable Emergency Test Alerts

To enable Test Emergency Alerts, users must go to Settings> Notifications and also choose to turn Test alerts on or off. The test alerts are off by default, unlike government alerts. Government alerts can toggle, but it might not be possible to disable them in certain regions altogether. However, you’ll also receive them on your Apple smartwatch if you do toggle on alerts.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen. 
  3. Under Government Alerts, turn the type of alert on or off.

 If you are using iOS15.4 or later To, turn Apple Test Alerts on or off 

  1.  Ensure that your iPhone uses the latest version of iOS(iOS15.6 or after that). 
  2. Go to Settings> Notifications. 
  3. Turn Test Alerts on or off. 

 If you are using iOS15.3 or earlier to Apple Test Alerts, turn Test Alerts on. 

  1. Open the Phone app and tap Keypad.
  2.  Enter * 5005 * 25371# and tap the Call button. 
  3. You will get an alert that says,” Test alerts enabled.” 

To turn Test Alerts off. 

  1. Open the Phone app and tap Keypad. 
  2. Enter * 5005 * 25370# and tap the Call button. 
  3. You will get an alert that says, Test alerts disabled.

How to turn on Test Alert on your Apple Watch 

  1.  Make sure that your iPhone has the rearmost interpretation of iOS. For this way, you need iOS15.6 or latterly. 
  2. On your iPhone, go to Settings> Notifications. 
  3. Turn on Test Alerts. It also turns on Test Alerts for your Apple Watch. 

Turn on Test Alerts for an Apple Watch you set up for a family member 

  Still, you can use your iPhone to turn on Apple Test Alerts for their watch. If you set up an Apple Watch for a family member using Family Setup. 

  1.  Make sure that the Apple Watch has the latest version of watchOS. In this way, you require watchOS8.4 or later. 
  2. On the iPhone that you used to set up the Apple Watch, download the Apple Test Alerts profile 
  3. Tap allows. However, choose Apple Watch if you ask to select the device you want to install the profile.
  4. Open the Settings app, also tap Profile Downloaded. 
  5. Tap Install. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the profile. 
  6. After installing the profile on the Apple Watch, go to Settings> Notifications. 
  7. Turn on Test Alerts. 

To turn Test Alerts off, either. 

  1. Go to Settings> Notifications and turn off Test Alerts. 
  2. Go to Settings> General> Device Management and remove the profile.
