What Apple’s new entry-level MacBook could look like?
Concept artist Darvik Patel (opens in new tab) has imagined what Apple’s new entry-level MacBook could look like. The renders bring to life other rumors that Apple is bringing several colors to the MacBook Air 2022 lineup.
The new MacBook Air 2022 could come in more than eight colors.
According to these concepts, the new MacBook Air could come in purple, orange, blue, red, yellow, green, and silver/ gray, though we are sure the official names of these colors would differ. The iPad Air 2022, for example, comes in Space Gray, Starlight (white), Pink, Blue, and Purple.

Interestingly, these renders show a white keyboard, which would be a vital visual difference between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. But it’s not clear whether Apple would offer this option on many models or exactly a couple. I also have to wonder how clean the keyboard would look after several months of use.
MacBook Air 2022 Display
Wccfetch (opens in new tab) reported that the new MacBook Air would probably feature a13.6- inch display, which would be over slightly from the current13.3- inch model. There could be a14.2- inch version, but we do not imagine Apple offering two Air models that are so close in size.
You will also notice that the bezels around this MacBook Air 2022 conception display are significantly slimmer, which would be a welcome upgrade. And there is a notch towards the top of the display, though this would not house Face ID tech based on what we are hearing.
MacBook Air 2022 MagSafe and ports.
In terms of ports, the renders show a MagSafe connector for power, USB-C and a headphone jack. And the other side houses two more USB-C connectors, all of which presumably support Thunderbolt 4.
MacBook Air 2022 specs.
The current MacBook Air made waves by coming with the Apple M1 chip, a slice of silicon designed in-house by Cupertino’s engineers. It delivered impressive performance and long battery life.
The MacBook Air is tipped to use an Apple M2 chip. Rumored to use a 4- nanometer process node, the Apple M2 is anticipated to favor effectiveness over the raw performance offered by the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.
Bloomberg (opens in new tab) reports that Apple is testing “at least nine” new Macs with four different configurations of the forthcoming M2 chip. The M2 chip reportedly has the same eight CPU cores as the M1 but with an additional two- to three graphics cores for ten.
RAM and storage are likely to start at the same amounts as the current Air, with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD space. But we would not be surprised if Apple were to offer 16 GB of RAM and storage up to 1 TB for the MacBook Air 2022.
MacBook Air 2022 webcam?
We haven’t heard much about the webcam for the MacBook Air 2022, but we are hoping that Apple upgrades the sensor to 1080p, as this would be crucial for better quality while on video calls.
Price for the new MacBook Air 2022.
Another unknown is the price of the new MacBook Air. We’d expect Apple to charge the same$ 999 starting prices, though it would be nice to see$ 899 for a more viable back- to- academy option for parents on a budget. We have seen the current MacBook Air M1 hit that price but only when on sale.
